Wow, this weather is incredible. Apparently the worst for 100 years in Val D.
Hope everyone is out there stays safe. But obviously have fun if you can make it up a lift. |

After the thread about the snow train yesterday I decided to have a look at DIY to anywhere that the train went, so Val D, Tigne, Les Arcs, La Plagne.
Now just changed our date of travel as well to 3 March. |

100kph winds overnight in parts of the alps tonight won't help.

I've just heard about the massive storm hitting parts of the alps with 100kph winds overnight, plus a massive dump of snow.
Hope your mate's ok Iceman. |

I was getting a bit frustrated last night as everything I found was ridiculously expensive. I have tried going directly through some hotels and the resort websites, but maybe its because I'm looking at one of the more expensive resorts.
Anyway, I will soldier on. Thank you. |

For those that do DIY holidays, can you please suggest a few websites for accommodation? Probably leaning more towards hotels than SC but will look at both.
Chars. |

Just looked at the link Far Queue put on the above post, it's never an hour and a half to Val D from Bourg, probably more like 40 mins.

I'm confused (not difficult) - is this a different service to the Eurostar one that the TOs use?
I have been by train before a few times having booked the package through the TO, and I know you can book direct through Eurostar, so is this a different train? |
