the resort is an intermediate paradise, blues for those that want it although not so many blacks. #21 is a groomed black and if you have the balls you can let it go from the top, only saw 1 person do this and he was in full race kitas was his 3 buddies so assume he was there for some type of training.couple of ski routes are there and tried these but temps were high and snow was worn and very heavy so cant really give an opinion on these and never went off piste due to conditions so again i cant comment on this.
We stayed in hotel alpina and only went to ischgl as it was a bargain deal that we managed to get, hotels in this resort are expensive. I am an all day skiier and usually in bed by 9pm so cant really comment on night life.
would i go again? absolutely but it would have to be on a special deal due to hotel prices.

I stayed in Ischgl last march. Ski area is fantastic and big - more than enough to keep the mileage people happy. 2 main runs down to the village 1 at either end 1 of these is more gentle and runs to the main bar street the other is to the quieter end of the town and a bit of a challenge. When we were there the conditions were warm and there was some very wet snow and even puddles at the bottom of the runs late in the afternoon. there are several options for this 1) ski with the pack and keep yuour eyes open for the out of control skiiers 2)take gonodla down from midstation 3) stay at idalp are about half way up and have a late beer to let the pack go and then folow down about 20mins later which is much quieter or 4) get down a little earlier and have a beer outside the elizebeth hotel and watch the so called skiiers encounter the moguls on the last part of the run. you can see about 200mts of the run and it is hilarious to watch all ranges of skills. options 3 and 4 were my preference.
the village itself is not a usual brit place so plenty of other nations there. there is also a pasch?? nightclub which i was told was 80 euro to get in - not sure if that was true but never felt the slighest bit of curiosity to find out although i did see the clubs pink limo running around the roads early evening.
If your going there to ski you will have a great time on the vast and varied ski area in ischgl.
Never going skiing in .....

On the upside i can recommend June...
Sahara desert is great for a bit of off piste dune skiing - warm but not to hot and cool nights as its the desert...that walk back up to the top of the dune is bit of a killer though!!!:-)

looking for info advice tips etc about Ischgl. just got a great deal and will be there 19/3 in hotel Alpina. If anyone knows this hotel, resort slopes etc would be interested on your views. have looked into ski hire here and i believe there are only 2 places - intersport which seems to be close to the hotel or sport zangerl which i can get through online rental companies but zangerl is at the wrong end of the village(i think!!). any other ski hire shops here?
looking forward to your feedback
thanks
Zurs Ski Hire

i have always rented skis through the tour operator until this jan when i booked direct with the shop in 3v and got a very good deal and they then changed me to test ski's after a good chat with the shop owner.
We are now booking a trip to zurs for a week end of feb and i am not able to find any infor through the on line rental companys for zurs. am i missing something or is this location to small for the online co's to be bothered with?

i have also tried to find a rental shop in zurs and i believe there are 4 but none of them seem to have their own web site... again i might be missing something on tis and i really dont want to book through the tour operator unless i have to.

any help on this will be appreciated.

Boot Dryers

i wouldnt spend on boot dryers. i always take my boots back to the room - would not leave them in any ski room, would not be happy if they went missing - and i always pull the liner out of the shell and leave them near to a heater overnight. easy and cheaper than buying dryers.
