December - too early, snow too unreliable
January - too cold and miserable and very short days
February - oh no way, school holidays
March - getting warm, snow going fast. Ice and slush only
April - sunny days, green pastures, runs closed .......
Just a follow on from never skiing in March and April topic

We have been so lucky this ski season - fantastic pre-Christmas week in the 3 Valleys, superb first week of January in Obergurgl and then first week of March in Serre Chevalier.
We also backed the first and second in the National last Saturday

I've skied in the following months:
December - went to Andorra on a freebie, struggled for snow, but thats par for the course over there whatever time of year ;-)
January - cold and sunny, every time I've been
February - never not had good snow, even in Sauze when people were sunbathing
March - cold nights, longer days, great month to ski from experience
April - dumped it big style in Verbier on my £260 chalet holiday
Golden rule - pick the right resort at the right altitude, simples, and stop chuffing moaning about it.

On the upside i can recommend June...
Sahara desert is great for a bit of off piste dune skiing - warm but not to hot and cool nights as its the desert...that walk back up to the top of the dune is bit of a killer though!!!:-)

Son did boarding in Namibia - hilarious !!
Sand doesn't come off as easily as snow when you fall.
