Booked it this evening; very good deal all told and now looking forward to going somewhere new!

I wouldn't recommend Bulgaria when there is so much choice in Austria, France, Andorra and, especially, Italy.

Thanks, Ian, looks good. It looks likely that we'll be in the Hotel du Glacier, which has excellent write-ups on Trip Advisor. It's taking a lot to drag me away from Switzerland, but the more I read about La T, the more I like it!

Thanks; a lot can change in 15 years, of course. Not planning to stay at the Planibel, but La Rosiere is an added attraction, of course. Will make my mind up in the next 24 hours or so!

La Thuile has moved up my possibles list for a week towards the end of January.
Any comments, tips, ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you. |

Anyone flying out this weekend getting worried?

The last time I was inconvenienced by an airport closing due to snow was: Zurich (and the knock-on effects of Basel being closed) in 2007!
The worst traffic problems I've experienced due to snow - Paris two weeks ago! It's not just the United States of Kingdom that gets into trouble with the white stuff, but the media would have you believe it is. |

I've just had to cancel a trip to Arosa in January so I'm very jealous!
Pierre at the Private Ski School in Arosa is an excellent teacher - been skiing with him a few times. They have a good website - in English - and you can book through that I think. The office is close to the foot of the Tschuggen Ost chairlift and near the Vetter hotel. Have a good time! |
