Some decent snow falling, by the look of things, in La Ros/La Thuile and in my favoured Swiss destinations - still not booked anything else yet - holding my nerve for more snow!!!

I prefer Julia Mancuso. (Not relevant but I had to get that off my chest!)
New places to visit next season

Lauterbrunnen is beautiful, remote and quiet, but something of a trek, by train, from the slopes of Murren or Wengen. Possibly you'd be better of in Murren, which is absolutely gorgeous as well as being quiet.
where to go for 4 nights?

For flexible accommodation and easy transfers by rail, it has to be a Swiss resort. How about Villars if you're fixed on Geneva?

I'm planning a four or five-dayer in late March and April - and Engelberg via Zurich airport and Lucerne on the train is my choice.

Interesting contrast between the maps for the linked resorts of La Thuile and La Rosiere. On the Italian map, which crams two ski areas onto one smallish page, the crucial 'link' area is rather unclear.
The La Ros map is much bigger and much clearer. (Only found this out after a skier from the French side asked me if I knew where we were and I had a look at his map!)

I like the look of those back protectors too - think I'll get one!
Wengen or Murren for March trip?

Went to Murren two years ago - not a great deal of tree line skiing but lovely views and loads of village charm.

Haven't been to Cervinia since 1980 so my views may be just a little out of date!!
Wengen or Murren for March trip?

I prefer Grindelwald to Wengen, but Murren would be my preferred choice of the three. Plenty for the timid intermediate, but some much steeper stuff as well. Tends to hold the snow better, I think.
Cervinia is pretty snowsure because of its altitude and is easy-cruise heaven. Serre Che can be vulnerable later in the season but would be excellent if more snow falls soon!
