I've removed Catp and Tinpot from the top of the list because they've got to the snow! In fact, I think Catp is home again now :D

--- Yes, indeed : Catp did get home in one piece Sunday at about 1:30AM after a 6+h drive(of which a good 30% through heavy snow storm).

Now I am still enjoying my daily double shots BayerMeister (Effervescent Aspirin +C). And, as in many past occasions, I promise myself that "next year" I'll do a much better job at getting in shape before my first days of ski...

going to cost an absolute fortune.

Yes Admin, the current weather is 'interesting' for sure!

And not only in that area: take a look at what's happening right now with hurricane Sandy in my neck of the woods: We have the most weird storm ever hitting the North East, US!

Even in my state [RI] things are not looking good: we already had a few trees down, few thousands households lost power, some of our low beach areas are under mandatory evacuation orders. There were some comments that the storm might turn similar to the New England "snowicane" of 1804, as up to 3 feet of snow was forecast for the West Virginia mountains. Weird!!!
Jesus....i'm dying.

--- Same here. How does that work for you Bandit?

In my case, I quit smoking on July 4th, but the side-effect was replacing my daily cigarettes with numerous servings of various chocolate-based 'nutritional' items. Consequently, I managed to smoothly gain about 17 lbs in 13.5 weeks!!

And now I just finished patiently reading this entire thread, because I am on a mission to find any reasonable method to reverse the above described process. ... and, to accomplish that with the same progress-ratio: Namely loose those 17 lbs that I gained in almost 14 weeks, during the exactly 14 weeks left till my first day of ski in Tignes! (...and, w/o starting to smoke again  )

My sympathy and good luck wishes go to everybody reading this who is on the same fitness recovery journey!!!

(and this being said, my next move is to send a PM to daved for more detailed info about his diet  :!: )
Hi Tom,

And welcome to the J2Ski forum, home of the best ski info you'll find on the Net!

As Snapzzz said, this is an old thread. However, we have one group of J2SKIers going to Tignes on Jan 13th 2013, and we do have some more spots available in our chalet. So you might want to check out the thread "J2Ski group holiday to Tignes January 13th 2013" for more details, and let us know if you'd be interested to join.

WOW!!!!! This is the first time ever when, while checking to see what's new on the Forum, I find that the WIBBLE thread is not on the list showing in the "Latest Ski Chat"!

Are people getting so busy with "Summer" activities? ... or maybe some are quietly suffering from the lack-of-ski blues? ( )
Who wears a helmet?

I never did (wear a helmet) :oops: ;

however, after reading a lot on this subject within various previous topics on this forum, I am seriously considering the possibility of getting one for next season. (so, come close to winter time, I'll have to start searching again the forum pages to decide on what type/brand/features I should be looking for  )
Hi Maggie, and welcome to the Forum!

Maggie
-- I am 50 and I'd say intermediate (maybe upper-intermediate, but w/ very little experience off-piste; OK with blacks as far as steepness but don't really enjoy moguls).
