I still haven't managed to master the art of playing board games whilst skiing....you truly are a talented man Mr H..
The majority of the runs across the Grandvalira are open and although they may not be challenging nor is there much powder snow, skiing is skiing and beats lying around on a beach everytime. And considering I only paid £500 ALL IN (HB, flights, lift pass, ski hire and lessons) I'll take the relatively poor conditions. Back to topic, as Tony stated...no snow forecast, high temps and plenty of cheap beer... |

The webcams indicate that there is snow but looking at the number of black and red runs which aren't open, looks like I'm in for a week of unexciting skiing. Lucky for me, I'm going with my 7 & 11 year old so there wasn't going to be that much kamikaze action anyway. Bah...

I'm off there next Saturday and there's no snow forecast between now and then.
Whenever I've gone there in the past (during February) there was always snow but no experience of January in Andorra. Guess I'll stick to more snow sure resorts in the future. |

Stick to green runs?

Went along and had a look what the gear was like.
I think I was the only person there who had ever been skiing. Said it all for me. |

Will it ever snow in Andorra?
Looks a bit sparse on the ground, hope there are a few good dumps between now and when I go in 3 weeks.. |

Just had my second consultation. You will all be relieved to hear that I have no major issues with my knees!
The consultant did mention that the hinged braces (like the Mueller and McDavid) are a waste of money and don't actually do anything. It's the placebo effect, you wear them on your knees and remind your brain that you have knee problems and therefore you take it (subconsciously?) easier. Braces like the Donjoy (i.e. £400+) are medically proven to stabilise the knees. |

Yeh, I've been doing quite a lot of reading since my initial post and there does seem to be some medical evidence to suggest that they provide some support.
I only require support for mild ligament instability so the Donjoy is overkill for my needs. Back to the research! |
