Having spent most of the evening taking the proverbial, it transpires that she bought two because one is a woman's and the other is a man's....to cut a long story short, she expects me to wear a red ski suit...it's been 10 years since I last went on a skiing hol and I certainly don't want to look like I've just stepped out of a time machine!! What to do, huh?!

.....do people still wear them?
My first time skier wife has bought a couple off ebay. She's convinced it's the way to go. I didn't think people still wore them anymore! What about you lot on here? One piece or two separates? Coop |

Use www.skiset.com or www.snowbrainer.com to prebook your skihire as you can benefit from discounts. I have used snowbrainer to book my equipment for when I hit Niederau on the 6th. As for ski passes, I can't help you there. Dave Mac would know. But check out http://www.wildschoenau.com/sport/winter/en/tmp_1_763464687/Wildschonau_Lifts___ski_pass_prices_detail.aspx Hope this helps. You'll have to let me know what the skiing conditions are like because I can't jeffing wait.... |

I'm going to book my ski hire online soon as I've only got 3 weeks (wooohooo :D) or so before I go. So, I'm on a couple of webites comparing prices and they both use 2 different ski hire shops. There is a small saving to be had by using Skiverleih Thaler over SKI & BOARD MARGREITER. The saving is hardly anything to get excited about but it'll pay for lunch for the 4 of us so I might as well take it up.
I guess my question is does anyone have any experience of either and would they recommend one over the other? Cheers... Coop |

Mate....I think the 'beginners' lift pass covers you for Niederau. My travel consultant was a bit vague on this but he was sure it didn't cover the other ski areas. Too be honest, for complete beginners the local area pass will be more than adequate. I hear there are more than enough runs locally to keep you occupied. Let me know how you get on as I am going to Niederau for the first time on the 6th (Feb) with my lot, who are also ski virgins. Coop |

Just wondering which route would be best for hiring the equipment. I'm off to Niederau next month and got in contact with Stefan, who emailed me a price list. His prices were that little bit cheaper, going directly, than they would be going via SkiSet!! Which is amazing, considering you're supposed to benefit from a 20% discount off Stefan's list price..
Anyway, so I started shopping around and found a couple of other sites which offer discounts if you pre-book online...they are: skiholidayextra.com & snowbrainer.com Both of these were cheaper than SkiSet..does anyone have any experience of using these sites or care to add any other sites which they have a favourable experience of?
