Well, we're all booked up for Val Claret in January, so it's time to start thinking about drinking.....
Has anyone got any recommendations for bars, restaurants in Val Claret? We don't have an endless budget, so any tips, or back street bars that don't have premium prices would be great..... see you there!!! |

Thanks for the replies; looks like the consensus is to try Tignes; although we are struggling to find decent accom there. I think we were spoiled the last time with our two bedroomed sleeps six monster apartment for £500 all in....I just wish I could find similar in Tignes Val Claret...

We are in the process of booking for January as a group of four adults. Our abilities range from good/confident off piste down to intermediate/happy on reds all day.
We skied the 3V last year, based in Les Menuires, and are a bit torn this year between 3V again or Tignes. The "good" skier wants to do Chamonix, but I don't think it will suit the rest of us too well. We loved the ski in ski out aspect of the 3V, and not having to board any buses at all was great, and we absolutely hammered the pistes, and barely skimmed over the available area. My own personal opinion is that we should do the 3V again, but Tignes has been mentioned several times by more knowledgible skiers. None of us have ever been, so is it worth a go? Or do we stick to a tried and tested? |

Ok, here goes.... we are a group of four skiers looking for ok accommodation somewhere in the French Alps for the week 22-29 january 2011.
We are intermediate to advanced skiers, and would like some good skiing to get stuck into, and ideally have accom directly on the piste or adjacent to lifts. Not too fussy about anything else really, but we are on a budget. Any ideas folks...? Many thanks |

Hire car?
About £200 for the week from the airport...book in advance and get a few quid off...it's only an hours drive, but at least you have the option in resort to venture elsewhere if the weather closes in.... When are you going? |

I know its the best ski area in Europe, but by god it's a big hit on the pocket....even a 5% discount would be 60 odd quid off between the five of us....
