Ours was - it had to be detached for my suround sound system and the Girfriend wanted a large garden. I'm struggling to make that work with the skis. |

I reckon here's 3 of them. Just got to match the number to the suggestion and find two more.

Two good deeds performed last night at the dry slope;
Applied some of my Datawax 'Soft-and-Slippy' to a fellow skiers skis as his skis weren't running too well. Showed a lady (who claimed to have had a previous lesson but somehow I doubt it) how to plough and control her speed and tried to convince her that as her speed increases and she attempts to plough that she won't actually fly over the front of her skis - never heard that concern before! More suggestions please... PS Talking of ploughing - I wonder how many good skiers can plough properly. It's one of those things that you do when you first start and occasionaly when joining the queue at a lift but generally give it no thought what so ever. I though I could plough OK but apperently I do it whilst leaning back. An instructor at the slope pointed this out to me rightly saying that if I'm going to demonstrate a plough then demonstrate it propperly. |

Those of you who follow F1 Racing (it's another form of sport - but without skis and with engines) may have heared about Honda's ambition to save the planet with their myearthdream.com project. Instead of plastering their cars with the usual corporate advertising they instead encourage companies and individuals to make a pledge to do at least one thing to help the environment. On their list of suggested pledges was an item that caught my eye - 'Give up ironing'. Fantastic I thought, I can do that and feel thoroughly proud of my creased clothes.
Now however I have a problem. I have recently entered the world of DIY ski tuning (cheers Pavel). This according to my girlfriend consists largely of spending hours and hours with the an iron on, making myself and the shed smell like a tarts handbag. Now that I've mastered, and now enjoy, the local dry slope I imagine I'll be spending a lot more time making sweet smells in the shed so I guess I'll be back to the Honda website looking for a new pledge. Wish me luck! :wink: |

Amen.
Still would rather go to Austria :D |

On closer inspection of the skis the bases are pretty uneven. The same areas are become apparent during ironing, sraping and indeed in wear after skiing on them.
Hopefully today I'm having them stone ground to get myself a good starting point. We'll see how I get on then. |

1, Number of the piste with umbrella bar at the bottom
2, Time of the last lift to get to the piste with the umbrella bar at the bottom 3, PIN number for money to spend at umbrella bar 4, Number of strikes with hammer to sink nail into tree log at umbrella bar (an Austrian thing) 5, Number of apparently free drinks 'miene host' gives out at umbrella bar before presenting the bill. Obviously all after a thorougly hard day of intensive and well executed skiing :thumbup: |
