Oh god, the pressure!
I'll have a think. |

I should really take up windsurfing for the summer months. I live in one of the best places in the world for it and even the sailing for the 2012 olympics is being held in my own town - but cold I can deal with - wet and cold I'm not so sure.
I think I'll stick to doing countless runs at the local dry slope which incidently has helped me improve my skiing a massive amount in the last few weeks. |

I'll look forward to that

It's just occured to me that perhaps it's supposed to flake off. How much wax should be left on the ski?

Thanks Trencher, I might give that a go.
I think there is something odd about the skis. In the same areas the wax goes very white when cooling as if the wax there is very thick. The bases also look a bit concave. Perhaps a stone grind is in order to get them flat. |

Just had my first attempt at waxing skis!
It seemed to work ok on some very old skis but on new ones the wax keeps 'flaking' or shattering during sraping leaving small areas without wax. This was mostly at the tips. I'm using a very hard cold wax (for dry slope) and scraping before it goes completely cold. Am I doing something wrong or is it the new skis? |

Answering my own threads again! On closer inspection of the 3rd pair of skis I bought (Fischers), the bindings fitted were Salomon 957 composites in the same colour scheme as the S9500 so I'm assuming they were the ones originally fitted to the s9500s. Either way they are now! |
