at bhx earlier this year flying with thompson and a lad was overweight for his checked luggage. he took out his ski boots - bag now underweight so checked in ok and he walked through the security checks carrying a ski boot in each hand and still got on the plane with them in his hands!!
Rules or no rules?
i always put my boots in my checked bag and cram a lot into my rucksack i use for hand luggage. and if my case goes missing all my ski clothing is with the boots any way.

Booked hotel golf 12/1/13 with neilsen(still cant believe the deal we got) for 4 after having a fantastic time in les arc in feb 2012 and loved the area. so i have a q about lift pass as we have not booked yet - suspect snowcrazy chris knows the answer:
neilsen discovery £210 online les arc web site £205 so nothing to beef about on that. however the leas arc website does say that book before 31/10(and it asks what dates you will ski)and it gives 15% discount which roughly equates to £175. so this is now the question i have - despite the fact the site says you get 15 % discount the help pages say you can only order online 4 days before you use the pass. text below is copied from the les arc web site.

My order

How far ahead do I have to order my ski passes?
You can order them on the Internet 4 days before the first day of ski of the skipass chosen (for example from wenesday to sunday): pick up your ski passes at the sales outlet of your choice.
You can order 10 days before your stay (valid for France - 15 days for other countries) if you prefer to have your ski passes sent to your home by post.

How much does it cost to have them sent to my home?
Postage is free. We will send your ski passes by standard post.

When will the ski passes arrive at my home?
We will send them as soon as we have received the required payment and any necessary proof of ID.

What do I do if I don't receive confirmation of my order?
If you pay by bank card, you will soon receive confirmation by email. If this does not happen, please email us at contact@ski-lesarcs.com.

What documentation will you ask for when I come to pick up my ski passes?
When you go to one of our sales outlets, you will be asked to provide the confirmation of your Internet order.

What proof of ID do you accept?
You can upload a scanned image of your ID card or passport directly in your order.

i do take a lappy but it is a small one we got specifically so we could take on our travels..i dont believe there is a limit on the size of memory card so get one thats big enough to record your 6 day skiing..this would only be limited by battery life of approx 2-3 hours per day..i think 4gb per day would do so 32GB card..hey presto

This is an unedited vid from a HD wide angle bullet cam...the angle i mounted the cam probably could have ben better but i think you will see the quality is good for the price and as i have said before it is tiny.

This is the one i use, 720P, has 2 rear caps and 1 will make the unit fully waterproof for underwater use. main reason i got this one is its size - it is tiny and you cant feel it on your helmet. try rigging a dummy up of the same size and weight as the go pro etc and you WILL notice its there. Also i have heard of the go pro being knocked off its mounting and lost when skiing in the trees due to it sticking out so much.

stayed there 2 seasons ago...excellent hotel for location and everything else about the place and got a bargain deal. It is part of the Crystal sportiv which is 5* an you share the wellness area..i also learnt about ski hire price in austria. Scheiber sports are in this hotel and the best hire skis are 50% more than in france. having said that i absolutely loved the rossi world cup sl skis i had..
