I agree with what you are all saying, I do find this a friendly forum, and the advice offered is obviously great, but I can see where Juliet is coming from in a way. The problem is, a lot of the posters are such experts, it makes us 'newbies' feel a bit out of our depths.
BUT To me thats the whole point. You get advice on here that wouldn't necessarily be available to you in the real world. And if you want that sort of advice, then you are going to be a bit out of your depth. When I joined this forum this summer I had no idea what a flex angle was, what DIN settings were, heck I didnt even know that 'the thing that your ski fastens into' was called a binding!!! But reading all the advice on here, and even what you guys probably consider 'mundane ski talk' I have learnt loads about skiing! (And without feeling too stupid either!!!) (Thank you all for that btw!!) :D I think because a lot of people on here are regular posters and 'know' each other, it can be a bit intimidating posting, but I haven't ever seen anyone NOT be welcomed to the conversation! Stick around Juliet, they are a friendly bunch really!!!! |

If I remember rightly, I'm sure Davemac had contacted them, and was told it would be in store by 1st September, but our 2 TKMAXX still only have a few bits and pieces at the minute, so they are obviously behind schedule....on the plus side, it must be any day now!!!!! :D

On that note, having just passed my driving test, I can say there is no way I could have passed, had I not been taken out by an UNqualified intructor (my dad!), the practice I got was invaluable in building confidence, which I think is a massive factor in driving AND skiing. I know it may not be worth much from someone who only has 1 weeks skiing, but my instructor was great at confidence building as well as teaching the techniques, and if jaycraigs OH just needed that confidence boost of someone else being there and a few hints for good measure, then I cant see that causing any harm. On the other hand, living with someone who used to be a Health and Safety officer, I can also understand why the member of staff might have panicked!!! |

Well Done caron!!! (Has the deadline passed, or is it 12 tonight?!) Your knee cannot fail to be fine next time you ski if you are wearing a jacket from Pavel.....better than physio!!! (PS hope it is healing well enough for your Easter ski break plans so you can test-drive the jacket!!!!) :D |
