Thirty-four to go...I thought it was fewer than that!

A few years back, I was under the impression my annual travel insurance policy covered me for my second ski trip of the year. It didn't, luckily I had no need of it, but the thought of skiing without insurance on that trip sends shivers up my spine...
Just done my insurance for my next holiday online, a slightly tedious process with previous medical conditions and all that stuff. But to ski without insurance is madness.... |

That's my attitude to skiing as well Ian, but the Tunnel is a marked black run and really good fun. I would not, however, recommend it anyone who is not capable and confident. |

In three years and four months my mortgage will be paid, I start to collect the first in a series of pensions, and I'll be off to the alps! At 56, I think I'll be young enough to enjoy it....
...and following on from what Bandit said about the difficulties of Swiss domicile, I think I'm likely to base myself in Italy and sneak across the border into Swisserland for extended periods! |

Yes, the moguls were very large when I did it last! Mr Hull is right, don't stand there pontificating - commit and before you know it, you've done it!

Much depends on the snow conditions. I last did it when it was fairly icy, so it was an interesting experience. I was with a very decent ski leader, who picked an excellent line. Just dropped in and followed - and soon enough we were on the straight cruise out....

Bumping this thread back to the top. Did the planned day trip come off - or is it still planned for later in the season?

Iceman...just read your tale of the mop - it's obvious though, if you'd said Gloucester instead of Sale, nothing more would have been said - and you'd have all parted as the best of mates!!!!
