I am lucky enough to be about to head out to Bormio for the season-will be going there from Dec to April!
Got job working for a race company teaching the kids maths in the afternoons! Has anyone been to Bomrio or Livigno for that matter as its clsoe by and got any info about it? I keep reading "windy valley" and "off piste is illegal" which isnt promising..... Also want to get a big Self catered or Catered chalet for mates in April in Livgno but cant find ANYTHING really anywhere-trying to get them to come to me so I dont have to pay for a lift pass elsewhere! Plus Livigno looks pretty sweet-any opinions? |

Hi Wickers
I have just been looking at the Ryanair flight free nonsense thing and it doesnt appear to be on the Bergamo flight path? I will be flying out at the start of Dec to go to Bormio and therefore flying into Milan-du think i am just missing the start of the season as I have been able to get it (inc all the extra guff) for 60quid |

Looking for anyone who has stayed here especially in the "hamlet" called Le Villard?
Looking at getting a large self catered chalet for the 2 weeks at easter and there are a few here but worried it may be miles out the way. One of the ones I have looked at is l'Orcières-any ideas??? Cheers :D :D |

fair point ellistine-if you can ski on snowflex the real deal will be brilliant fun!

Both the 2 local dryslopes in Glasgow have "snowflex" on the jumps part of the slope-they have dendex on the learner slopes.
I have found it to be more realistic than dendex but still not a pleasant experience-very "skiddy" and hard to actually turn on properly. They dont race on it because put simply I dont think you could get an edge to carve on! good for jumps though because its dead springy! go and try it out |

Great work!
Sounds liek good banter, how much was it? You sound about my level of freestyle ability! Martin is a really decent instructor-he has just back from zermatt and i think is off again next year-hate him! |

seems like a crazy idea but just to pull this back towards topic...... I did NOT like the aero GT ski-demoed last years model and really got nothing out of it turning wise-if you want something that is easy to turn you need to try the Rossignol 9S-doesnt need to be race model, put a huge grin on my face but maybe try the 9X as it comes in a little longer for GS turns. That Fischer Progressor is a decent ski too I ski the scott RC and love it-maybe try them too? they are a toned down skier cross ski let us know what you choose! :D |
