What is this thing called skiing?

When I am skiing I think about nothing else. Problems, worries and responsibilities are simply brushed aside...I am in Narnia!
Ski boots - hand baggage or checked in

Did I tell anyone the story about how my boots 'in my suitcase' never arrived at all when I went to The Three Valleys and how it cost me an arm and a leg to buy new ones in France?:lol:

I have never been stopped at check in or security because of boots in my hand luggage. The only reason they were in my suitcase on tyhe above occasion that is I felt it less likely to loose a suitcase when travelling by coach!

It's unlikely that you'll need to use them so I would just get a cheap pair for the sake of the law. If you do need them it won't be for extensive use if you're only out for a week. Try ebay that's where we got ours £25 I think.

They are really easy to put on once you know how, so as Ally says do practice. I don't know how she managed to take a chunk out of her finger but then I don't know how she manages to get so many injuries full stop.

Give it a try. Remove the liner from the shell, put a thick ski sock around the outside of the liner, then place the liner back into the shell.

Let us know if it works out for you.

And keep your hands off my socks skinflint!
Snow report from St Moritz

It's snowing here in Morzine and it is much needed. Lower slopes are getting a bit ropey. Still much good skiing to be had up higher though, towards Avoriaz and over to Chatel,Champery and Fornet.

:D

Not good in Morzine...All's looking very green!

Skiing in Avoriaz today was ok higher up, but seeing a boarder on the lower slopes on his tummy, face down the mountain doing breast stroke, sums it up really :-(

You can buy a lift pass when you are there and it will cost just the same as buying in advance online.
