Hi Matt,
Good luck with the interview and well done for getting one. I haven't stayed with Silverski but knew Len Silver back in the '80's when he started. He has built a good reputation over the years and is known for choosing older chalet staff and particularly couples (against the norm). I think you will have a brilliant season in any of the resorts and are probably best waiting to see where/what they offer. Enjoy, do keep in touch when you are living out there next winter. |

Yep Edge - really is like that on most days - although you can get rain, snow, white outs etc just like the weather anywhere. Your hypothesis about summer skiing and the relative novice is spot on. Glaciers are limited in terrain and availability and lend themselves to working on technique and having lessons. Mountains in the summer are glorious and as the skiing is limited to the morning time later in the day to do lots of other things or sit and sun bathe as you see fit. Go for it !! |

Autumn is the more correct word I think ?? |

Everything crossed (well nearly  ) for you Nelly.
The body is an amazing thing and skiing, to a good standard, is possible after all sorts of problems. Even with a bad case scenario of mising next season there will be plenty more. My sister has missed 2 of the last 5 years skiing due to... 1 - a back operation (bit of metal inserted somewhere or other) - but back skiing about 18 months later. 2 - Hip replacement - back to skiing after 15 months. Her daughter says she is skiing better than ever, handling blacks at reasonable speed and, as she puts it - "controlled and elegant". Which is better than the point straight down the hill and close her eyes approach she had when younger. |

Down the shops as soon as you arrive....
End of season, sales will be on. Treat yourself to something nice!! PS: I tend to try to "leave" something behind just to give me an excuse. |
