I´m sitting in a hotel in La Massana while on a weekend shopping trip to Andorra, and hey... it´s snowing outside! :D It´s been so warm and dry recently, I didn´t think the season was going to be able to start on schedule, in just 3 weeks time! Lets hope the temperatures stay low!

Two winners share 100 million euros!
11 19 34 43 45 Star numbers 5 9 |

The numbers were:
9 33 35 38 40 and the star numbers 2 and 6. There is a rollover, next week it's closer to €100 million! Phew! I checked my own numbers, I won €9.42. Not retiring yet, then! |

:) :) :) It's still summer here folks, I took this photo this afternoon! :) :)
Weather has been warm in Andorra, but the first frosts are due this weekend. Fingers crossed! Cheers! |

A plot to reduce the value of the J2Ski Euro Lottery winnings, I think... :-o

What's happening to the ol' pound, folks?
I see an exchange rate at 1 GBP = 1.10 EUR on my screen at the moment... that rate is going to hurt a lot come ski time in Euroland. :-( |

My first visit to the forum since the end of last season....
Andorra is not cheap, unfortunately. The ski passes for example, are among the most expensive in Europe. The high cost of buying apartments there in order to rent them out means that owners cannot afford to drop prices even in these financially tough times. The prices of food and drinks in the bars and hotels are average for a holiday destination (read: expensive) I think, but the pound to Euro conversion hurts a lot. If you go self catering though, and supermarket shop, you will find that things become much more reasonably priced and alcohol very cheap! Sorry I cannot recommend s-c anywhere, I don't usually stay more than one or two nights so use hotels when I am there. If you are not too worried about staying on the slopes, Andorra la Vella is going to be the best place to stay, as there is plenty going on there and lots of choice for night-time dining and entertainment. I suppose the apartments there are just a bit more difficult to rent to skiers, so the winter season prices tend to be a little lower than on the slopes. Good luck! |

I wonder, sometimes, why I don't miss living in the UK too much!
