First time in Courchevel early March

Take LOTS of cash. We paid 22 euro for fries and a coke a few years ago.
The setting was amazing, but Courchevel is very expensive.

6. Le Signal - at the top of the Fornet cable car in Val d'Isere.

Had my skis nicked from here last year.

Lesson - get a ski lock for when leaving skis anywhere. Travel insurance requires you stay with your skis (which is obviously unreasonable).

Lessons in Val d'isere?

I would highly recommend TDC in VDI or Tignes.

I have used TDC in VDI. And I would definitely use them again if i was in EK.

Hi Folks,

We are off to Sestriere in mid January.

Has anyone any recommendations on where to get lessons (probably private)?

Thanks

Sestriere Olympic Piste vs VDI Face
Started by User in Italy, 11 Replies
Hi,

Heading to Sestriere and wondering how the Olympic run compares in difficulty with the Face in VDI.
It looks like the Olympic is part red, black and blue. Just wondering ho difficult the black is.

Just out of interest, I know that in Espace Killy many runs seem to be under graded with a number of greens/blues that would notmally be red in other resorts.
Snow conditions aside, does anyone have an opinion on how the slopes at the Milky Way are graded compared with Tignes/VDI?

Regards,
Brian

Sestriere - opinions
Started by User in Italy, 11 Replies
Hi Folks,

Starting to think of 2013! And maybe heading to Sestriere.

Any opinions?
How good is the snow (most likely mid-January)? What is it like for nervous intermediates? Seems like a LOT of red runs everywhere - how do these compare in difficulty of the runs in Espace Killy where I have skiied before (I know many of the runs in EK are grossly under graded).

Thanks
