Folks,
I have a couple of questions on the slopes/lifts at VDI. 1. Is the Leissieres Express lift two directional - ie. can you get from the Solaise valley to the Fornet side and back on this lift? 2. How do you get to the Leissieres Express from the Fornet side - is this on the pont abbate blue run? 3. How difficult is the tunnel black run - I quite like the idea of skiing through the tunnel through the mointain. 4. On the Piste map, some of the LIFTS ate marked with a black triangle containing a yellow up side down triangle. This is supposed to mean DANGER. How does this apply to a lift? These can be gound on the "3000" lift; the lift yp to the "signal" red run; the Chardonnay lift at Tignes. 5. What are your favorite runs (Blues and Reds) at VDI/Tignes? 6. Where exactly do you go to see the big rock with the hole through it on the L'Aiguille Percee at Tignes? Four weeks to go :) Thanks! |

On the Face, are the steep bits very long or narrow?
I dont mind steep so much as long as there is room to turn. I dont even mind ice so much as you can slide. I think vary narrow slopes that scare me most where I cant turn. I think it is the Etroits lift that seem to take you half way up the "OK" run. |

Thanks for the advice.
What about the Coupe de Monde run which I believe is red? |

Folks,
I would love to be able to get down the Face black piste at VDI. I can ski blues easily and get down red slopes - though I slide too much on the turns. I have also been down a few black pistes - though not many. I have heard a lot about the face rin at vdi. Just how difficult is it? I have 3 weeks skiing under my belt and will be in vdi in late Feruary. What makes it difficult - narrow, bumps, gradiend? Is skiing the Face being too ambicious for me at this level of experience? Thanks |

Hi,
I am looking for recomendations for renting skis and lessons in VDI. One person has recommended Snowberry for skis. Looking at their web site, they look pretty good. They will sebd a car to pick you up when collecting skis and heir skis are pretty new - they make a big thing of this on theie site and brochure. On the lessons, I have used ESF 3 times before and I thought they were ok - nothing great. I have skied three weeks before and want to really progress this year - full proper carving and cnfident on red runs. What do others think of esf and is there any other school that you would suggest? Thanks. |

Hi.
I spent my first sking experience learning for a week in Tignes in feb 2007. By the end of the week I was able to handle all the greens I tried and the few Blues I tried (Diebold, Carline and a couple of others I cant remember). I am going for a week in February this year and would like to make it onto my first Red run. Is this achievable for my second week skiing? What are the difficult Blues or the East Reds in the Espace killey region? Thanks |
