Nice pic.
Where's it from?

I have been to both quite a few times and like them both a lot. But am heading to ADH this season. How does ADH compare with the EK region? I would consider myself a "nervous" intermediate.

I would choose Tignes over VDI every time. Also would recommend TDC for lessons.

I use one of those as well and I appreciate the determined, professional would not be deterred, but I think the opportunist would look elsewhere. It also prevents the taken wrong skis scenario. I also like those heavy-duty ski racks at lift stations that cost a Euro; they seem an excellent solution.

And a lock also stops someone picking up the wrong skis which is the likely problem to face.

Happened to me at the Signal Restaurant in VDI two years ago.
I now carry and use a ski cable lock.

andyhull wrote:Yes, there are several routes down but my favourite starts on the Les Rousses run from the Top of the DMC lift (Troncon 2)
Three quarters of the way down the piste splits, right towards the L'Alpette lift, stay left onto the Bartavelles piste, which eventually joins the Alpette piste down into Oz.
Make sure you stop at the La Grange Alpette restaurant during your stay, it's a superb pizza restaurant, good value too. It's set back on the right on Les Rousses just before the Alpette mid station.
From there you can follow the Chalets blue then the La Fare black down to Vaujany.

Also make sure you ski the Sarenne, it's a fabulous run. Amazing views and feels like the middle of nowhere. A couple of tricky bits at the top (easier than the Face), but then just a lovely long run right down to the valley and a well earned hot chocolate at the restaurant on the right near the bottom.

So many brilliant runs in the area.

How difficult is the Sarenne? Compared to something like the face in VDI.
Update - just realised you had already answered this question.

Thought I'd start a quick review thread for my favorite resort ADH.

Pros
Varied terrain, outlying villages all offer something different. Big ski area.
Easy skiing close to town.
The perfect resort for mixed groups.
The red-run down into Oz is a must do run (knocks spots off Jerusalem in my opinion).
Position of resort gives tendency for intense snowfall, followed by clear skies. Frequent powder days.
Amazing black runs.
Loads of lift served off piste.

Cons
When bad weather closes the higher lifts there's limited advanced skiing. (Epic when it reopens though)

9.5/10 My favorite resort, will keep going back again and again.

Do you remember which specific red to Oz?
Think we may be headed to ADH next year (ps. wont be doing the tunnel. Found the face in VDI stretching enough and the tunnel looka way more difficult)
