I suspect he means that GPS apps for smartphones kill the battery life (my golf range finder is great but, even with Bluetooth and Wifi off, it will take the battery from 100% to less than 10 in 4 hours |

If I knew how to post pics I'd show you a pic of mine "modulated"
oo-er missus |
|

Ive got a pair of Bolle Novas from 2009 in Racing Snake trim (I kid you not) with modulator vermillion lenses, basically an older version of what you've posted I'd guess
They're comfortable, dont fog, modulate quickly and well in varying light conditions. Points that won't bother you but apply to me: fit my prescription inserts no bother and work well with my Smith helmet |

Definitely go for the whole pass
I had 2 peeps on their first week on snopw from VT to Courchevel 1850 in time for lunch one day and back again for a pint all with using only green/blue runs (clearly it can be done much quicker if you venture down some reds) |

Been a while since I was there but a quick look at map has jogged my memory a bit.
I think you're only talking about a couple of short red sections, not even neccessarily full runs and I dont rememebr any of them being too hairy/steep/narrow/mogulled I'd say do the reds in Pas (directa 1 and 2 which I think at least one used to be classified blue) to build some confidence and go for it. Take your time and I'm sure you will be fine. Oh and have a Flugel in the Underground for me! |

A familar sight in Sauze, Tony
I'd love to ski the Milky Way properly some time after my problems last time (though the bars got a real pasting....) but am so hesitant to book it due to the snow record |

Killington, as Tony says, is the obvious one as its a reasonable size and only about 1.5 hours from Boston. I went there a few years ago and really enjoyed a lot of it: Lots of variety - easy through to some serious double black diamonds No queues at lifts - ever that we saw Good grooming, lift capacity etc Pico is worth a visit too off same pass Downsides: It's New England so the weather can do anything at any time (the images you have in mind of powder and blue skies all day in Colorado may happen but it's a lottery) No real "village" so you'll likely have to hike/drive/bus to bars/restaurants depending on your accomodation Now all that was 3 or 4 years ago so some of the minuses may be less so now - overall I'd go back for a good deal etc but I want to try some more of Colorado/Utah first There are several US based peeps on here who will give you better advice on resorts in the West if you don't mind flying from Boston out there |

Sorry to hear of your hassles
I have nothing really to add to this but wanted to post so I could get any updates as I'm intrigued (sorry for the ambulance chasing!) |
