I want to scream at someone but I don't know who!!!

I ordered a new pair of ski pants and they were dispatched last Wednesday. They were delivered on Thursday by City-Link but there was no one in so they left them with a neighbour.

The problem is they have not got the number of the house and they only have the name of the person who signed for them which is 'Sharpe'. I have knocked at the 10 closest houses to me and no one has heard of anyone called 'Sharpe'. It has also been a week now and no one has called with my parcel, as I would do!

I did say on the instructions that is was ok for them to leave with a neighbour if I wasn't in; I think I have just lost £110

You should be insured if you paid by credit card.

City-Link didn't even put a card through my door to say that they'd left them. I only found out because I called the retailler to ask where they were.

No way. If the courier can't tell you which house they delivered to, and you apparently don't have a neighbour of that name... they clearly cannot prove they delivered as per your instructions. As they didn't leave you a card, you have no evidence they were ever near your road - do you?

I agree if the courier can't provide any proof that they were left with someone then they must surely be liable. Contact City link and explain the circs then mention you will be taking legal action. For all you know the driver could have never delivered them.
