I am sure snowcrazy will post more later but it snowed a lot last night and this morning i had the pleasure of skiing around the Grand Col. The black was fresh powder and then after a few runs the powder had become skied out.. so we went down the side of the black and for the first time i have skied in powder that was mid thigh deep
Great day every where just hope the rest of the week will be the same.
Fallen in love as well...movement jam's they do everything..powder carve ice although only found a few runs with any icy bits but not enough to moan about. - ski to buy if i was going to invest in any ski's.
SC one of your facebook photos is a 'Ski not allowed' sign which i assume is the to prevent entry to the national forest down to Villaroger. I thought this was an area you use a lot so do you need a permit to ski in there?

One of my favourite Hari Kiri vids

so funny...seems i was given a bit of duff information on ischgl having the steepest slope a piste basher could work...although i cant help thinking there was some good editing that took place...

just put hari kari on my must do runs.

Snapzzz ..Ischgl has some amazing blacks that are groomed. If i recall correctly run 20 is the steepest black in Europe that the bashers can work on although it was not groomed every night. There is also another run which i think was black 35 which was straight at the top and had a hump so you stood at the top and watched someone ski over it and waited a few seconds until they reappeared in the distance down below. Only people i saw really go for it were in full race gear with back protectors so i assume they were a team using it for speed training. Unfortunately my ego was not up to it so had to put in a few turns until half way down.. i am sure i have a video somewhere so will post it if i can find it.

glad to see he was Ok...fascinating(for all the wrong reasons) to see this from the victims view.. I thought the sound was a little low so used headphones and tuned the volume up full..nearly pooped myself at just after 5mins when the sound of his breathing changed to yelling!!
oldboarder wrote:well its not long now, this sat i will be there. can any1 give me a few tips on some nice runs for intermediate boarders. also what restaurants/bars which serve nice food and at a good price. will be much appreciated, thanks.

There is a little hut at the top of blue arpette that we found was really cheap compared to most places(Only rolls and drinks) and has a few chairs around it - ok for nice sunny days. looking at the piste map there are 2 to the right of the top of Charmettoger28 lift - the lower one is a good place for full lunch with loads of inside and outside seating.
cant help with the boarding Q.
looks like a steady snowfall over the next few days so should be excellent conditions - 3 am start and still wot be able to ski on saturday afternoon due to long transfer and probably wont get to hotel till after lunch - i can live in hope though

Looks like these have a huge rocker on the front so should i expect them to 'feel' much shorter and therefore go longer than my normal 170-175? length they are available in are 166,172,178,184.
