The first couple of weeks of the year tend to be quieter and cheaper, althouhg like Tony says the lower resorts might not have the best snow, but if you can hang on and book last minute like has been suggested you could get yourself a great deal.
Diary of a knee injury

Thought it was time for an update as the snow is on it's way :)

Some of you already know that I'm pretty much back to normal, by which I mean my knee, the rest of me is debatable. But the big test will come in January when I hit the slopes of Les Arcs for the first time in almost 2 years.

I was discharged from physio in June this year, had my last check up with the surgeon in May and they were all happy, although I admit to being a bit lazy with the exercises, I know that I need to up my game again before I get back on the skis and strenghten the muscles more.

I do occasionally get pain (usually after exercise) apparently nothing to worry about, my knee is solid but they have advised that I wear a brace every time I ski from now on but I can live with that.

I'm just perhaps a little bit concerned about how I will deal with actually getting back on my skis in a psychological sense, overcoming that fear of doing it again, and will I actually ski like I used to.

All normal thought processes, but I have been given the all clear to go and can't wait to get back to the mountains :)

Almost AndyO, still got some work to do on strength, but apparently it's all good inside and tough as old boots. Good incentive for me to get back into training and working on it :)

After missing the mountains last year for the first time in 25 years, we've just booked for Les Arcs in January. This helps me get over missing out on Glastonbury tickets this morning. I'm still sulking.

Time to get busy with the micro research.
