Hello again
As you know my hubby and 2 of my kids are having lessons in niederau. my 13 year old nephew is also coming with us so I will be skiing with him but what I want to know is how to combine skiing with my hubby and kids and will i have time to do it? they are having lessons in the morning and afternoon and i dont think hubby will be impressed that I will be off skiing all day whilst he is in lessons "on his own". so I want him to feel that we will be spending some time skiing as a family. I was thinking of maybe on day 4 taking them out of the lessons in the afternoon to ski together as they will have got the hang of some of the moves (fingers crossed) but I dont really want to stop them from learning. I think that if they are to ski during dinnertime or after the lessons it will either be too slushy or they will be too knackered. Any ideas? sorry if i have not got my point over well enough. I know what I mean it is just trying to explain it in words. karen |

I thought the skiworld was online? can you recommend an online place to get them? I am really looking at buying a cheap pair for the kids, hopefully I can pick them up for about £30 and sell them the year after when they are too small. I was even thinking ofjust buying a second hand pair off ebay or something like that. Do you think it is worth getting measured at a ski shop then looking online for a bargain? or am I just asking for trouble. I had a giggle at some of the posts - skidaddle I like your gay mode...that was funny. I only ever hired my boots once and that was when i went with the school so i havent really got much experience about hiring. I must admit that when i bought my first pair of ski boots the difference between them and the hired boots were worlds apart. I must admit that i have never worried about the toenails turning black but i am a bit concerned now. YOu know what kids are like when they get their shoes, they are fine when they leave the shop then they are killing them!. I think the bronze package for 6 days for skis boots and poles for adult through skiworld was £54 i didnt think that was bad. |

Ok so I have been to skiworld.com to price my ski hire for next year.
They give me 3 options. bronze, silver and gold. Do you think that the bronze level will be fine for what we want. Out of the 5 of us we have 3 complete beginners (1 adult and 2 kids) and 1 teen who has 1 week experience and then there is me lol about 15 years ago I went skiing and probably have (if I put it in "weeks" terms) about 6 weeks skiing. I would haev classed myself as a recreational skier, I just liked cruising down the easy runs, watching the world go by, I did not like going down steep runs, much preferreing to stay on the greens, blues and very easy reds, so I don't really need speed. (add to the fact that it has been a long long time since I have skied). I also remember I bought these skis and I think they were 185's and were far too long for me, but my ex boyfriend told me I would "grow" into them, but they always felt too long. I understand nowadays they are much shorter than in those days and also not pointed at the top like they used to be. Do you think bronze would be ok for all of us? Karen |

Sorry for the late reply. My computer has been down and I have been completely lost!!
I love the photos of niederau and I can't wait to come skiing now. I'm so excited and its only August! Just a question.... how often is the ski slopes that quiet? and how busy will they be in Feb school term. Is it going to be heaving. Karen |
