Hey mark. We went to valmorel in 2010. It's a fab cruisy ski resort. Only negative we found was the price of resort supermarkets. If we went again would do our shop in Moutiers first. We stayed in p&v apartment. Location was great. Apartment was typical French style but adequate.
Here is my report from back then http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/8244.page Ps I went to Austria this year with crystal and it was a night and day experience! Dare I say they were very good in the most part give or take a couple of bumps but nothing like our trip to valmorel |

I am amazed that admin pulled tony up on his response but said absolutely nothing about snowmans flippant and provoking remarks about tony working in a travel agent!
But in response to the thread. There are resorts in Austria where you can stay near to the piste and in smaller resorts I have found it cheaper eating out slope side. I went to ellmau this year and wasn't a fan. The main reason being is that I like wide cruisy slopes and found the ski welt to be more for good intermediates rather than nervous beginners, I don't think the skiwelt is somewhere I would go back to. Also I wasn't a fan of getting the bus to the funicular then queuing up for the funicular to go to the top. We as a family are just too slow moving. |

Did you get stuck in all the delays tony? |

Gaz how did you find the reds? was the run down to Ellmau steep? I realy only like cruising and nothing too taxing or difficult. Did you find on the whole there wasnt much difference between red and blue?
