Just noticed this posst is 2 years old lol

Tony you say you do swimming to train. Can I ask how often you go swimming before your holidays and how much ie half hour, an hour etc.

Hi Jan

That would be great to meet up. Look forward to it. Hubby is on 3 so we will be able to check more or less straight away if we are charged for any calls to home or from our 3 to 3 mobiles.

Yes Bandit that rings a bell = 3 like home. he said we wouldnt be charged any extra and it would just be like using our mobile in the uk. will be great if it works. I get free video calls to other 3 users so might buy my parents a 3 sim card so they can receive me up a mountain on the slopes lol

I cant access the 3 website at the minute but I remember telling the sales guy I was going to Austria and he said that there are a few countries where you can use your mobile phone just like you would at home, using free mins etc, without the international roaming charges being put on.

I am going to double check it though when I get back on to the website.

Thanks Jan

I understand that 3 has a network in Austria so I will be able to use like I would be able to use it in UK (ie not get charged for international calls) well thats the BS the man in the "3" store gave me anyway.

How busy does Niderau get in the peak season, I mean like how long are you likely to queue for a lift at peak times, just roughly lol

Hello

Well as you have all probably gathered now I am a bit of a control freak, especailly when it comes to the kids.

My question is this......Can you get a mobile phone reception in Niederau (I am with 3)

Also if we take walkie talkies is this a big thing and there will be loads of other people on the frequencies? bearing in mind we are going at peak time (Feb half term)

GOD-DAMMIT WOMAN. YOU'RE HUSBAND IS THEIR TO LEARN, NOT ENJOY HIMSELF. ALMOST EVERYONE ON HERE KNOWS THAT AND I AM SURPRISED AT YOU FOR NOT KNOWING. IT IS NOT A HOLIDAY FOR HIM.

NOT UNTIL HE IS COVERED IN BRUISES AND BLEEDING FROM HIS BOOTS WILL HE BE FIT TO SKI WITH YOU, SO DON'T EVEN ENTERTAIN THE IDEA. LUNCHES SHOULD BE SPENT ON HIS OWN, CONSIDERING THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS AND WHY HE HAS NOT LEARNT BEFORE.

I hope this helps.

I can see that response going down even better! lol.

Up until a little while ago he wanted me to be in the beginner group with him until we worked out it would just not be cost effective me being in the class with him learning snowploughs ! (not saying that I wouldnt benifit from the lesson as I am sure I have lots of bad lazy habits)but I don't think that it would be exciting learning how to do a snowplough again. I am sure I can still remember how to do this.

I am probably worrying unneccessarily and I am sure that he will be fine. But it is far from what I was hoping the holiday to be but I know that it must be done if we are to go on future holidays skiing as a family.

I had initially wanted to hire a ski instructor that would teach us in one group so that we could learn as a family, but given the differences in our ski ability and the fact that we are going peak season and noone would be available (after emailing a couple of people).

I am just a bit anxious as I have been trying to persuade hubby for 17 years to come skiing with me and now he has eventually said yes he will spend a week on the slopes on his own I just don't know if he will enjoy it and I don't want him to think that if we go skiing again that he will be on his own and i really want this to be the start of something.

Anyway I am a woman and I am entitled to worry. It is my perogative, along with changing my mind!! and I am sure I will have lots more stupid questions and statements that I will expect you all to answer and put my mind at ease.

On another note, I was looking at my old skiing photos and there was a picture of me standing next to my skis and they were massive for me, they were the old style, the straight ones with pointed tips. Then that lead me to have a dream about skiing where I had my own skis on and I skiid of on my own then lost my family...........great isnt it? lol
