well that was a waste of time lol as the owner just got back to me and said that she didnt have a room for when we want it but said her brother has a room in his house 5 minutes away. I am getting a bit sick of looking on homeandaway and holidayrentals and putting in the dates looking for the ideal apartment and the site shows that they have availablity and then when i contact them they havent. I feel like i am always back at square one. I am also thinking that maybe i have left it too late and should start looking at tour operators late deals coz at least they will be up to date. Ian, I wanted to ask them how you get back to the house, coz looking at the piste map, to ski back in, looks like you have to come in on a red run and I wanted to know how hard the red run was and if there was actually snow at that level at the min to ski back and what my options whould have been should the red be too difficult.

thanks for you replies. it is hard to tell what the snow conditions are like at the moment in Austria. I haevnt booked anything so I am toing and froing over lots of different countries. still weighing up my sella ronda options lol as well as the milky way, oh and i had also fancied belle plagne.
anyway i digress, here is what the description of the itter apartment says "Our house is located directly at the lift is connected to the green pistes. You pull the skis in front of the house and drive to be connected without difficulty lift." |

Oh thank you. I have seen two places that may be ok. One in utter and one in Scheffau. How far is solo from itter in a taxi? Do u reckon it would cost very much? We would probably only do that a couple times though as we tend to just stay in the apartment at night and rarely venture out. The one in itter is next to a lift and the one in Scheffau is next tot the bus stop.

has anyone been to Itter? can you tell me if ther are any restaurants or supermarket? not that bothered about night life as we dont really go out much but it would be nice to eat out a couple nights. Is there any local swimming pool?

thanks for your replies. the ohter consideration i had was the sella ronda. I am once again going round the globe in the search for the best skiing option for us. I fancied italy because we have been to austria and france twice so wanted to try somewhere we hadnt been. I nearly just booked a holiday to Ellmau and then couldnt get the apartments I wanted. I just dont know where to go now. I just want a big cruisy area for me the hubby and 2 kids. ikeep reading back through old posts where i had asked for inspiration for cruisy holidays. Im just stuck. does everyone have this problem

Hi there
I am thinking of staying at the hotel du col in sestriere and was just wondering how easy the reds are? i would class our group as a step up from beginner in that we are more the cruisy type and dont like very steep slopes. will this limit the access we could make across the milky way? are the links to other areas hard? |

can anyone tell me how do i do a search in the forum or find previous threads that i have posted?
