There was a huge dump of snow during the men's downhill from Aspen yesterday. The change of light conditions from sunny to flat also affected the times dramatically. Bode Miller was odds on favourite to win and ended up nearly 2 seconds off the pace.
Off to watch more downhill from Lake Louise now. |

I've got the CamelBak Snoblast. There's a separate compartment for the bladder apart from general rucsac storage. The tube is insulated and the mouthpiece can tuck back into the straps to keep it protected. Can't see that the bladder contents would freeze due to the protection from the bag lining and your own body heat.
I've used various versions of these both for sport (Marathon running, mountain biking, long distance cycling) and for my work in the forces (can't tell you about that or I'll have to shoot you.) Have never had a problem controlling fluid intake because I've used a hydration system. I found that I was more inclined to take in fluid because it was readily available without having to stop and unload by rucsac to find the lonley bottle of H20 hidden away amongst the paraphanalia (sp?) within. |

No, it's all to do with the RAF moving out of air traffic control at RAF St Mawgan (NQY airport).
Mr Blimey O' Reilly from RyanAir has had a good moan describing Cornwall County Council as a 'Keystone Cops' operation. It's hard to disagree with him. Suppose it could give him more reason to pull some routes. |

I know this not may affect many of you but I've just read that all flights in and out of Newquay have been cancelled for three weeks from Sunday because of a problem over air traffic support.
Cornwall County Council, which owns Newquay Airport, had been due to take over air traffic operations from the RAF on 1 December. But the council said there was a delay in securing a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) licence until 19 December. The RAF have not been able to agree to the request to extend support to the airport, this is because the RAF personnel who are employed at the airfield are required for operational posts elsewhere. The RAF decision not to continue providing air traffic cover means the airport is effectively without a licence until 19 December Glad I'm flying from Exeter!! |

We went on ski holiday last year with the in laws and had a great time. Both of them are in their 60's & took beginners group lessons. MiL hated the instructor and gave up on day one. FiL continued and was shuffling his way down the blues by the end of the week. To be able to do that he also conquered his major fear of heights!
We're all going back again this year with all of us having private lessons. |
