Should I get her into private lessons for 2 half days? That's what I'm thinking of. Can anyone recommend any schools thou?
There's all sorts like:
BASS
ESF
Ecole
Just wondering if anyone has been down these routes, typical learning times and experiences.

I'd book a full week-you'll still have time to meet up after lessons but it will take a week to learn.

Thanks for your reply Paul!
Even with 1 on 1 instruction? Would it really take a week of instruction before one is independent to go off by ones self?
I snow-board myself so I not cluded up on learning times for skiers. I took 2 half day lessons in cham 2 years ago for two consecutive mornings and it was enough to equip me to get onto reds at the time.

I would be with Paul on this one. It will take her at least a week to really get going and she will probably not be competent or confident enough to ski on her own on anything other than the most basic beginners slopes.
Have a good luck around the ski schools and see who has the most suitable option - ideally, a class with at least a few "more mature" students. If you can find one, she will enjoy learning with the group and will not feel under pressure to keep up with you or feel she is holding you back.
This will also leave you free to enjoy the mountain at your own pace. You can, and should, arrange to meet with her regularly, for lunch and/or end of class. If you want to give her a nice Xmas present, book her a massage for the middle of the week
Hope it works out and don't pay any attention to any m-in-l jokes that may follow [Tony - behave ]
