Tony, can you also offer any tips about a decent place to stay ? (Solo skier).

Well I'd love to visit the area mid-Feb onwards for a week. As a solo skier, can anyone recommend a reasonable guesthouse / hotel etc ? Thanks.
Isn't it great when a bit of unexpected good fortune smiles on you ? Totally out of the blue, I got a cheque from the tax man last week (apparently, I'd been using HMRC as a piggy bank for over a year !) which will do nicely, thank you, for another visit this season !

Enjoy your bonus trip, Snapzzz; I certainly will mine :)

Thanks guys. I'll review with my boot guy to make sure I didn't mis-hear him :)

Thanks Ian for the post; very timely actually, as a French friend has just bought a small apartment in Chatel which he is offering out at a reasonable rate. Never having skied the PDS at all I'm reasding your comments carefully !

I'm glad this topic has been raised. I recently bought my first pair of "own" ski boots and had a pair of Zipfit liners moulded for my feet. I was advised by the boot fitter not to put my boots on those warming racks you find in resorts as they could risk distorting the moulded liners. Has anyone ever come across this problem ?

To change the mood a little (to quote Squeeze), I personally find that one of the joys of being on holiday is that I can switch off my mobile and forget it for the week. But then I'm very old-fashioned.
