Well, we are back in one piece and I can only say what an amazing area the PDS is covered an awful lot of milage and did not touch the sides ..... Where do I start.

Chatel

Not a village as I first thought more of a spread out town we stayed in the Linga area as the apartment was advertised as 100 mt from the lift .... wrong more like 400 mt and I don't do walking in ski boots so we ended up getting the ski bus to Pre-La Joux about three miles down the road and it was also where Little W had her ski lessons, ski bus stopped outside the apartment so no real hardship.
The slopes of Chatel are very shady and do not see a lot of sun so with tempetures down to -7 for most of the day the slopes were rock hard and some covered in ice balls not great when you're skiing home with tied old ski legs.
But the rest of the PDS well the world is your Oyster over into Avoriaz if you can take your eyes away from the disgusting development the skiing is first class lots of opportunity for off piste although most was skied out or moguled but we had some good fun we were led for most of the week by two J2skiers and our thanks go out to Snowb4ndit and Scapular who took us to all the good parts who with out these two guys we would possible not as been as adventurous as we were
even though Snowb4ndit did take me over some off piste jump which landed me flat on my backside much to the amusement of the lunching hoard on the ridge above.
But seriously guys thanks for looking after us we all had a fab time and we all agree it was one of the best hol's we have had and that was mainly down to you guys, so love and kisses to the Morzine connection.

Chatel Part 2

On the mountain

Lunch on the mountain varied between €25 to €30 which was normally for three hot meals
and three drinks.

Small beer €3
Soup €6
Spag Bol €8
Hot Choc €3.3
Pizza from €7

Evenings

Evening meals normally came in at between €60 to €70 for a good quality meal Starter, Main and coffee and ice cream for the little one, a carafe of house Cote du Rhone €8 for 50 cl.

We had a cracking meal last wednesday evening with Snowb4ndit & Scapular over in the next village from chatel ... I can only recommend it very highly real top quality grub and service the place was called
Les Cornets in La Chappelle du abondance, fixed menu's at €23 and €31 for I think it was six courses anyone who is a bit of a foody it is well worth the cab fare over ...... the burger crowd steer well clear.
We had the Smoked meat platter for a starter and this platter turned up full of cured meats for myself Mrs W and Little W .... we only got though half of it.
