Ian, you say the pros out weigh the cons. For the benefit of someone like me who is constantly mulling over this choice, could you just summarise what you believe the pros of having your own skis are ?

Tignes is pretty high and is as snowsure as you can get right through until the first week of May, when it closes. |

Just a quick report to say thanks to Admin for the encouragement to go the first week of May; I did, and it was fantastic. It even snowed yesterday ... the last day of the season !

I skied Tignes yesterday... right up until the closing of the final lift on the last day of this season (apart from the summer skiing that is).
It was snowing at 4 pm ! |

Well, the season's last knockings are here, and I'm having a short few days in Tignes at the end of next week. Am assured there will be snow, but will take my walking boots just in case. Good advice re the bike over the summer - must try it !
