I'm liking the sound of what I read about the hostelleries in Bourg. Which ski area would be the one you would use if staying in Bourg ? I have skied Tignes, but I guess Bourg is a bit far for that; where would be closer and good to ski ?

Niederau is a cheap and cheerful entry level ski resort for anybody, whatever their personal hygiene habits :) I'll be taking my fourth trip there in January and love it. (May even take a bar of soap along with me this time !)

Thanks Ferdinand for the positive word re Ladis, as I'm going there early December. It was booked by an Austrian friend and I've never been there before so I was wondering what it is like. I suppose he must have good local knowldedge !
After reading these comments I think I'll be steering well clear of "fun parks" and the like in the ski resorts I visit. I can have all the fun I need on the normal pistes; and, yes, I know danger can lurk in even the most innocuous of those too !

Hi Tillylilly
To my knowledge, Tignes has no problem with snow in March and early April.

Ah, I thought she was telling us something about her private life there. Not up to date on ski brands :)

Thanks both; will invest in own boots this year for the first time (they may be called "snuggy-huggers", or that may be a reference to MY private life :) )

Cheers !
