The Lecht is also not worth that further distance coming from the south, or in fact worth it at all*

Think of it as an out-door Xscape really..

Welcome to J2Ski Canadienne!

Alpe D'Huez as stated by Bandit caters for all - it's an excellent resort, I skied here last year and loved it. Snow sure resort with the highest lift reaching 3330M (Pic Blanc).
It's also home to the longest black run in europe (La Sarenne - 16km) worth doing to boast that you've done it (even though the majority of it isn't even as difficult as a black)

Definitely a resort worth visiting. I will certainly be going back there!

Hmm, I don't think knowing how to speak Japanese is mandatory in ski related jobs, but knowing a second language certainly makes you more employable.
Take a look on here;

I used that website myself when applying for my first season out in Austria this coming winter.

Best of luck!

I noticed in your short list you noted Salomon Thruster 1080's.
I tested those last season and they're extremely light underfoot and very flexible, being a freestyle ski and all. Very good in the jib-factor.

I had quick skim through this thread and didn't come across anybody suggesting the Salomon Lord ski? Have you looked into those? Come in your desired lengths, very strong ski, twin tipped and it's been given the best ski rating the last 2 years I believe :) Don't own a pair myself but I certainly would buy a set.

Have you decided on a ski yet Tony?
Campervan ski trip?

I also seen those camper vans Jonah! I was there in January.
The idea is very good - works out much cheaper i'd imagine than booking some accommodation - or maybe not.. Work out the fuel costs etc - other bummf that will come with it. IE - Snow chains as stated above, insurance abroad etc - and do make sure the heaters work.. Especially for every night you're there..

It does sound interesting though - I'd like to give it a shot myself sometime!
Update on working my first ski season!
