True of them being good sticks - although I almost started crying when I scratched them a little.. It went straight to my heart! haha. Bringing the average age down? Can never be too old to start learning new things! :D
Thanks for the compliment there Ian.. Just determination I guess, can't let it put you off. Speaking of which, I had a bad accident almost 3 months ago now - I went off a pretty big kicker and it threw me high up and landed on an air bag ski's down (as you're meant to do).. but the air bag itself was about 10 feet high and I done a flip (because of the momentum of landing, my ski's had stuck to the surface of the air bag) and I landed on my head on hard snow.. Was paralised for a good while, taken to hospital and treated for a broken spine - Turns out I'd severly damaged the muscle in my pelvis and in the bottom of the spine - L4 section or something they said. So for a years skiing I already have a little story to tell people - was very lucky to walk again though :!: |

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.. First off, Happy new year to you all.
Now, I am new to these forums and this is my first post. I've been skiing since January 2008 - I was given a surprise 18th birthday present and it was a skiing trip to Vamorel in France - Now, this was the time of my life.. So much fun and it's incredible how much peace skiing can bring to the human mind. Skiing is now my most favourite thing in the world. I live in Glasgow and for those of you who know about it, I can easily travel to the indoor ski slopes at Braehead - Xscape, so for a while now I've been going here.. Since then I've slowly built a love towards freestyle skiing - I get such a rush from trying it.. I was just generally wondering if there are any freestyle skiers on here? Not even professional, just anyone who likes to try the odd kicker or box/rail slide or even those who've stomped their first 180! I'd like to talk with them to get an idea of how they got better! I've recently bought my own equipment - Dynastar Nothing But Trouble skis (Twintips) and a pair of Salomon SPK Kaos boots. Great gear, love it. Cheers, take care and happy skiing! |
