Probably crap in wherever it is all the time then, Valentines day is an easy ride for any place that knows what they are doing. Two's are easy, it's the groups of 10, 15 20 that cause more problems service wise.

snowb4ndit wrote:I flew to Toulouse from Gatwick New Year week, on Thomson Airlines. I put my boots in my hand luggage (Small wheely Salomonn case) as I have always done. I told them at check in that I had ski boots in my bag and it was very clear on the x-ray machine going through security. There were no problems at all there and back.

Gatwick maybe ok but some airports don't allow Ski boots as hand luggage, so beware not to get caught out. Bristol doesn't and I've seen several people being sent back to check-in from security beacause they tried to ignore the prominent signs posted round the check-in area and carry them on.

Speaking of beer prices, last year we frequented a dansish/viking bar ??? (something like that - maybe someone else on here can give it it's proper name) near the top of the village, they had a happy hour about 5-7 and we were getting 3 large beers for 12 Euros, not sure about this seasons prices, but that worked for us.

Ski holiday suggestions

If your thinking of moving around (if your railpass allows) I did 2 days in Flumserberg (about an hour from Zurich heading towards Davos area) and had an enjoyable time. You can ski pretty well all of it in a day, but it's a nice little resort and very quiet outwith weekends.
