I have a flight booked to Zurich and Swiss RailPass on March 8 but, as yet, have not decided on resort or accommodation.

Just wondering where J2ers might suggest (and to make it crystal clear I have no interest whatsoever in scuttling deep into Austria and going to Niederau! )

Suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

Zermatt is top of my wishlist. I'd also try Adelboden, Jungfrau, Davos area, and Laax.

Careful with Adelboden as you know I'm off there in March 15cm Lower slopes
There is some more snow expected

If your thinking of moving around (if your railpass allows) I did 2 days in Flumserberg (about an hour from Zurich heading towards Davos area) and had an enjoyable time. You can ski pretty well all of it in a day, but it's a nice little resort and very quiet outwith weekends.

Thanks all.

Unfortunately, Rust, the SwissPass I have is a cheap return ticket from border or airport to a single destination.

Had a good look at Zermatt, but the only single rooms available for my dates are either in a youth hostel (I'm 50!) or in the real top-end at approx £2,000.

Will have a good look at Lax next, I think.

Another one for the list ...Saas-Fee :D

You might consider Le Chable for Verbier, with a gondola link straight in.
