The smell of diesel fumes on a cold day makes me think of the transfer buses at the airport.

Haven't been here for 10 years I'm afraid so things may have changed, but it certainly was more of a quiet family-friendly place rather than a hotspot for nightlife. The Pila 2000 is from memory a rather large sprawling complex but with a swimming pool etc I think. There is a gondola linking to the town of Aosta but it certainly didn't run in the evenings when we stayed there. Aosta is worth a visit though with Roman ruins, restaurants, shops, etc.
Pila has some nice blues and some very wide reds which are good for building confidence. |

1850 is horrendously expensive, but we found that we could get a couple of rounds of decent sandwiches plus a drink from the Spar just inside the shopping centre for less than 10 euros last December and if it is sunny there is a seat just outside to sit and eat them!
La Tania has more reasonable prices though as does Les Menuires and Reberty. |

We met Davina a couple of years ago when we had a technique lesson with her in Alpe d'Huez. We were supposed to have the lesson with either Stuart or Mel of Masterclass, but something happened and she came over from Serre Chevalier to help them out. We found her teaching tips really beneficial.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the Neiges de Culture trails which start at various chairs/drags/gondolas etc. This will leave you spiritually refreshed (NOT) or, as our ski host described the whole thing, a four-letter word starting with c and ending with p :D

There are a couple of Boardercross runs which are great fun - one is above Grande Alpe and the other as you come off the Prorel chair to go down to Briancon.
