I have whatsapp installed but find ping chat works better. especially for sending MMS. Viber cant fault it, brilliant app

If using your mobile of GSM network as in your provider it would be quite expensive, i think o2 charge around £5 per MB.... However if you connect through many of the free wifi points in resorts these days it would free...

Using a mobile abroad these days is brilliant with wifi, you can now send text, mms messages, make video calls and normal calls all for free.... All you need to do is make sure you have the right apps in place. If you have a iphone 4 and want the said apps let me know and ill send u a pm.
there needs to be doesnt there.... come on J2ski create us an app...
Tony_H wrote:Now I have recently entered the world of iphones, I have collected the following skiing apps which I am yet to test out in resort:

Skimaps - simply pick a resort and download the piste map. Much easier than getting the paper one out on the lift, and a big database to choose from.

Maprika - not entirely sure what this will do for me yet, but I downloaded it for a reason last week.

Simply Piste - online skiwear and hardware.

Snow report - obviously a guide to the weather with live webcams too.

Snoveo - more snow reports and weather. I like to double check.

Ski Tracks - now this is the one I really want to try, as it tracks your usage in a day, and reports back with distance, top and average speed, vertical etc and then gives you a piste map of your resort with what you've done in the day as well as a google earth image with your ski tracks painted in! I like.

Tony i used ski tracks this yr when i went to Val Thorens... it works pretty well and somehow understands when your on a lift and when your skiing etc... not sure how accurate the data is though as the app says the steepest decent we did was 45 degrees..... overall works pretty well. well worth the pricely sum of £0....

the best app i have downloaded and worth every single penny has to be Autostich. This stiches your pictures together to create 1 panoramic pic... i have to same the results are truly amazing...

dont know how to upload pics otherwise id show you some...
33 days for me, going back to the 3 valleys staying in meribel. canni wait.... already looking at hols for season.

Anyone ever skied start of dec, ie 1st 2 weeks. whats it usually like?

Thats what ive just been reading Tony. Also the lift pass is one of the highest priced in Europe which is never good..

Its sounds like the place to visit if you can get a good last min deal. as foor booking a large group into the same chalet this could work out a pretty expensive holiday... Personally id rather pay less and have 2 holidays.
