Transfers
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 8 Replies
Hi all I'm looking for a transfer for 7 people from geneva to bourg d oisans. The problem is I'm travelling just out of season, 25th May to 1st June. The companies I've looked at ATM all seem to stop at the end of April. Can anyone recommend any companies to me that would be operating on those dates? If any private companies are reading this and willing to help pls pm me.

Thanks

Watch someone jumping in a snow park?.. Come on ally it's a SKI holiday.... I'd rather pull my teeth out than sit and watch that.

You are being rather rude to Snowbandit, who lives in PdS each winter.

Not really bandit, this is only my opinion. I have no issues with snow bandit jumping in the park if that's her thing. I'm saying I'd rather not. And PDS is a great ski area, but I've skid there that much over the last few yrs that I wouldn't want to return. I dont recall having a personal dig at snowbandit and if thats how its come across then for that i DO apologise........But for a thread that your not interested in your sure making your opinions felt.

Anyway my suggestion is as long as the resort is a good size and has plenty to offer I'd consider it. Morzine is a great choice no problems there, PDS is ok but I've been tons so wouldn't be too bothered about going back just yet and I'd like to try st Anton however I don't think it would suit everyone's budget. ADH would is also a suggestion?

Is it too early to mention the N word.....
I have to agree, it may well be an insurance job, after all for anyone who has been there, the slope was in bad condition, the centre needed doing up badly and from what I understand hardly anyone used it due to castleford opening their indoor slope.

AllyG wrote:When we were ski-ing Meribel at New Year I was really annoyed because we were in the restaurant at the top of the Tougnette 1 and they refused to give me a carafe of tap water, even though I'd bought meals for 3 of us there

They even had a cutting from a French newspaper stuck up saying that the French law had changed and restaurants are no longer required to provide free water.

So I had to BUY bottles of very expensive water

I think that was really mean, because water is essential when you're ski-ing, just like it is in the desert, because it's very easy to become dehydrated.

Ally you should of asked them for a glass, or cup. Then proceeded to the outside of said restaraunt to fill it with snow just to prove a. Point..... Mr frosty at the ready

Agree this isnt v hospitable however if they can make money from doing so then there entitle to. However stupidly it's probably doing them more damage by doing so as word will soon spread.
What will everybody be doing until next season? Do any of you do other sports beside ski, how will you fill your time between now and say dec.... How will you get your fix, besides looking on here and at alpine cams showing grass for the next 8 months....
