If i was you id stick to Morzine for the first few days and then if you have settled ok then try and venture over to avoriaz and champoussin. You will need the port du soleil pass to venture over the mountain but it will be well worth it.
Depending on your ability you should be able to catch the long blue run from the top of mossets which takes you right over to Morgins, from there you can ski back through champoussin, les crosets, avoriaz and back to morzine... It will take you most of the day so you would need to head off early.. If you can get over to champoussin by lunch then stop at the mountain restaraunt at the side of the red run in the main village its very nice.. Oh and the slopes over there are far less crowded than morzine avoriaz. |

Hi all...
I am going to Les Menuires on 10th jan for 1 week so returning on the 17th and i want to know what the transport options are? Because im travelling sunday to sunday a private trnafer is pretty much out of the question as quotes ive had so far range anything from £480 to £600, i know this may seem reasonbale to some however im trying to do the hol on a budget so looking for cheaper alternatives. What id like to understand is, is there a train staion/bus station at chambery airpot? Have you ever travelled to Les menuires on a sunday, if so how did u get there if not by PT? What are the roads like if i chose to drive. car hire is very reasonable at only 230 euros... are the roads kept clear or could this be a nightmare in waiting? I understand you can catch a bus to Moutiers for 70 euro return, is this right, has anyone caught it and if so do they travel on sundays? Sorry for all the questions but im in a panic now that were going to struggle to get there. if all above fails then would it be just easier to change flights? Thanks Christian |
