bcloh there were reports on this thread from those who had got back last week that the ski conditions were good. You could always do with a bit more, and the reports say they had a 'powdering' last week. The snow report I have seen for this week is that more is due starting tonight. Not huge amounts but enough to keep the area looking good.
Touch wood this time next week I will be there and update this thread on my return. |

Depending in which part Austria you go to then there is a huge market for them. There was a big Hungarian skiing presence in Schladming when we have been. Alot of the seasonal workers are Hungarian as well.

Consider Snowcoach chalets, but take the flying option. Get him sorted in snowbaord school, Snow coach supply a ski guide, who will take guests to various mountains as long as they ski abit. Company on the slopes and get to know the other guests at the same time. Snowcoach do mainly France and would be well within your budget. You must know this already but France is well exy for Apres!!

I know this will have been discussed in other threads but I hoping someone who has travelled with Thomsons to Soll this season may help.
We have a number in our group who are not taking skis but will have their own boots. The baggage allowance for the hold is 20 kilos. It always used to be that you could have your holdhall and boot bag in the hold at no extra cost as long as the total weight was not more than 20k. Last year alot of airways including Thomsons insisted that you could only put one item in the hold, so effectively your boots had to go in your main bag. Anyone know what the score this year as they keeping moving the goalposts!! I know on top of that you have a one item 5k cabin luggage allowance. |

I am saying this tounge in cheek. As a traffic cop would you say that a kid who has never been behind the wheel of car before but just gets in one for a blast on a private road having had no tuition is a danger to himself or more importantly anyone else? Slight exaggeration I know but you must know the basics of how to drive the skis and how the car/skis work before going for a spin.

Not been there myself but the Skiamade area is vast as we normally do Schladming. Have a look at the attached link, hope it helps. |
