To reinforce what YoungAndy said, in general, there are usually heaps of offers, some last minute, some 2/3 weeks earlier.
That allows you to consider the snow conditions. What to look for ~ is the base still good, they have a dump of snow, what are the night time temperatures (look for sub-zero forecast). Generally, that allows you to confidently book a couple of weeks ahead.
Costwise, Austria will jump very high on the 5th March week, that is Fasching. I don't know about other countries.
I have never accepted the premise that in March "you have to go high". Resorts with north facing slopes, operating good piste management, and with a good snow history. For most of the last 40 odd years, I have skied in March, in lowish resorts. I prefer to ski at tree level.
On the other hand, if the conditions do not feel right, then you can go to a glacier area, or at least a higher resort. Zermatt may be a good call.
Zell am See pic - maybe ?

Well done, Zell Belle, we have all stuttered to get our early pictures on J2ski. We were in ZAZ in January, and met with the Zell guru, Rustyinn. It is a lovely place.

Ian, since you are a regular to ADB, have you written to the lift company to make known your point of view? I couldn't find a FB page, but there will be a tourist office page. Of course you have to be constructive. When a new lift goes in, there is often a need for new routes, water catchment, and sub-ground piping.

What about night skiing .... great fun :D

Hinterglemm has several long runs that are floodlit, with few people using them. In the interests of the longevity of my marriage, I constrained to a normal days ski.

I did manage to get our group out on the first gondola of the day, last week.....a little white lie about the start time of the Gondel meant that we were first in the queue on the first morning. They loved that first run down on freshies, there were no issues for the rest of the week!
You know how to block a toilet, don't you?

Tony!

Its the law when I go skiing

Gosh, it must be very crowded on the first Gondel!

Would you have given financial assistance if the trip was not to N.

Yes. It was not a conscious plan. I have helped out maybe six or seven young folk, keen skiers, and one boarder, they were just financially stuck. When I was a young ski bum, living on next to nothing, people helped me out, mostly in kind. Its a kind of natural process.

Please form an orderly queue.......

The bus is free, Thursday and Friday, should you be staying at the Sonnschein or the Harfenwirt. You are staying elsewhere, so will need to make alternative arrangements.
Best to discuss with your rep. If you can get a party of say, four or six, a taxi may be appropriate. Also, we can talk to Franzls taxi, and check if they have boookings that you can latch on to.
I will probably do some ski welt, given that my season pass covers the area.
I might be able to swing something on the free transfer with Herbert, but it just depends which way the sun is shining, and the wind is blowing.......
