Right on Blodwyn, it was a big award. He had the camera set on burst, which I often do, to prevent a picture of the tail of the ski, disappearing off to the left of pic.
And, I have just realised that I have the pics the wrong way round. In the top pic, the ski has gone exit stage right, and Martin has angled the boot. |

I did ask, but there was no age category for me.
I guess the guys who got knocked sideways may not have thought it was that friendly! This was part of a race series aimed at boosting the Austrian Skicross team ~ they were a real friendly bunch of guys, (and gals), about 80 entrants, and they knew how to party! |

Alistair! You know how to wound a man! All five sets of my skis were bought new. However, it just might be true that I have an eye for a good purchase!
My new skis are Atomic Thingys, cost new 390 Euros. With the sale discount, Dave Mac discount, and.... 10% off for the Wildschonau Tennis club discount, I paid, erm 180 Euros. With Bindings.... I did fail to buy gloves, where a right thumb piece would be useful, Sallos, but then I have stitched mine, and a jacket for the wife, (phew) ~ at one stage, in Hinterglemm she was looking at 700 Euro jackets! |

I'm pretty much with Ian,and have skied on 6 or 7 different skis this season, varing from 2m K2s down to 158 Elans.
I did buy another pair in the Worgl Hervis sales, three weeks ago, largely to provide additional protection for my dodgy knee. Very easy turners, and a bonus was a higher speed on our speed gun. |

Just heading back after 3 consecutive weeks. There are many ski technique advantages to be gained in extending beyond a week. I have also observed that after a week, there are improvements to balance and speed.
Also had three and a half weeks in January, split in two. I took the opportunity to hire different ski types and lengths, in preparation to buying new skis in the Wörgl ski sales. |

I was caught doing 5kph over the limit in Fieberbrunn. The Notification was routed from the local Austrian police through the Avis Munich office, and on to me with a 20 Euro fee for Avis. I arranged to pay the 40 Eu fine directly, as my son was conveniently travelling to the Salzburg lakes, and he paid in through a bank.
