Would liked to have watch Trencher's video, but while it opened, it gummed up and would not play.

End of season, in the skip, behind any ski rental. I once "attained" a pair of Kneissl White Stars, c/w bindungs, from the skip at the side of the rental in Söll. Got 3 seasons from them, at the clattery end of the season.

I reteiterate the advice that Bandit and others give in relation to CEM.

However, in view of the time aspect, I wonder if you have considered that you may have developed Plantar fasciitis. This can suddenly occur. It is likely if you have developed PF, that you would feel it at other times. If this is the case, the use of Orthotics in the ski boot will eliminate the pain.

If PF is not the culprit, it does soumd like a badly fitted boot. The first port of call should be the supplier. When you explain that you did not have issues with a rental boot, the supplier might feel that his fitting ought to be at least as good.

I have hired three times this year, all through J2ski/Skiset. I book skis every year through J2ski.

I always book the lowest price, and have always had good skis and good service. Reinforcing Ally's point, if I feel the need to change the skis, I do so, although, given my attitude to skis, this is a rare event.

What this did allow me to do was to experiment with models/lengths, and I subsequently took advantage of the March ski sales to get a bargain. Well, there's a surprise.

People assume that lower category skis mean lower quality. What happens in many shops is that as a ski gets past a season old, it passes to the next grade..... and so on.

Given that I did ski on Blizzard Firebirds for 26 years before moving on, a couple of seasons old is not an issue for me.

£46 return, Sat & Sun flights. Saturday flight times both ways look quite good. Only problem is that you have to pay French costs, once there. :wink:
