Although I am going for the third time next weekend this year I much rather go for two weeks.
I also like to do other things apart for skiing but if you go for a week it is hard to get other things in

Why does no one go for 14 days skiing? I have done 10 days but find it near impossible to fine package holidays for more then a week

I have been for 2 weeks. We went just before xmas 2 yrs ago and came back in the new year week. Its was really cold but we got loads of skiing in...infact we skied till we dropped, (and consumed lots of Vin Chaud!!)
My boyfriend rent out his place for a week opr two or more if you wish..very reasonable rates.
Megeve, France, studio apartment, very close to Rochebrune cable car.

I have taken two weeks many times over the years one time with a package with no transfers between resorts a real pain and other times when we have driven a week each in two resorts. Struggle to it these days due to holiday restraints.

I've been for 14 day trips with T.O's lots of times, both to Europe and the US. These days I do DIY trips.

Just heading back after 3 consecutive weeks. There are many ski technique advantages to be gained in extending beyond a week. I have also observed that after a week, there are improvements to balance and speed.
Also had three and a half weeks in January, split in two.
I took the opportunity to hire different ski types and lengths, in preparation to buying new skis in the Wörgl ski sales.

I think it can be hard to ski so many days straight, on 7th day my legs just don't want to turn the skis anymore, but then with 2-week holidays people don't have to and can afford to pick and choose. last Sunday we had the worst conditions imaginable, high wind, low clouds, blue ice on pistes with thin piles of blown snow mixed with soil in some places. and lifts were full because for many people it was the much awaited first day of their holiday and they had to go back after 6 nights.

I've never skied more than 6 straight days, but I do know I think I'd struggle, and personally I wouldn't want to take a ski trip and then not ski, so thats why I take 1 weeks trips at a time.
I think if you go across the Pond it would be different, as I wouldn't want to take just a week for such a long flight, so I'd probably do 10 days and ski 6 or 7 of them, with a day off before and after to prepare for the flight.
