Perhaps you might be able to get one moulded to fit, like they mould ski boots around peoples bunions!

I'll start some research...

I would say yes. You can buy footbeds at Snow & Rock and they put you on a machine that molds them to your feet. Definately worth doing.

I've decided to go down the helmet wearing road too, but what colour? decisions, decisions...

Naturally colour is the first thing I thought of. Most of my ski wear is some shade of blue, including boots, however my skis are red. And being a cone head, if I wore a red lid I'd look like a lipstick.

How do you find out who owns the accommodation?

Hi Jobster, good to hear hubby is on the mend!

I only have experiences of hospitals in and around Austrian ski resorts but I would imagine any emergency would be handled pretty much without any issues in France as they are prepared to rescue people from hard to reach places and hospitals are easily accesed by helicopter if necessary.

However, for peace of mind I would imagine somewhere like Chamonix (ie - big town rather than mountain side village) would be suitable for both skiing and access to hospitals.

Sure there are more people on here with a lot more sounds advice than me who will come along eventually.

Glad his op isn't deterring you from the slopes though :D

Has anyone ever travelled with this TO? They seem to have a lot of accommodation priced at 'per accommodation' rather than per person which seems quite the bargain.

Although I haven't gone through the motions to get a final price, so this could be slightly mis-leading.
