Has anyone ever travelled with this TO? They seem to have a lot of accommodation priced at 'per accommodation' rather than per person which seems quite the bargain.

Although I haven't gone through the motions to get a final price, so this could be slightly mis-leading.

Peak retreats have always been ok, I have used them two or three times in the past, but the caution would be as with all TO's is the accommodation size for example a three bed apartment was two bedrooms and bunk beds in the hallway. 8)

They are low prices BUT once you add the travel etc on it comes up to 'normality', although still a good price. If you drive & are stopping overnight you can add around £600 for the journey & more if you fly drive.............+ you get the agro of doing the drive !!! probably only a good cost saver if doing in the school holidays otherwise I think you can match , if not beat ,the price doing a late TO booking & most likely get 1/2 board as well).
Thats my 'take'
Cheers

It really depends what you require from your holiday, I enjoy the drive it is part of the adventure for me, you can get to places that the TO's don't go and you get to eat at the french service stations that knock spots off our own.
I really can't see me doing too many package holidays in the future and I'm guessing I'll do none...... it is really horses for courses and depends really on the individual, for me I can get away on holidays and mingle with the locals without a flood of Brits all around me, and maybe just maybe experience some of the local culture. Thats the holidays my family and I enjoy.
There are some holidays that I will fly drive and by the end of the flight I just want to get in the hire car and disappear into the countryside away from the winging English voices who's conversations in the plane can be heard by all, why do brits talk so loud I always thought we were a reserved nation......not anymore 8) 8)

I think you make some very good points...........was actually considering something with peak retreats myself (+ family) this coming season; so if I can change my outlook on the drive ( wife to nervous to drive in France so usually becomes a bit of an endurance as a sole driver trying to cover off hundreds of miles in a day) maybe I will end up preferring this ; must say as well, getting through Gatwick is a bloody nightmare these days ( out & inbound); I think for actual travelling hours you could probably match the time driving Vs flying to some of the closer ski areas as there isnt the hours of hanging about in airports..........
I,m begining to like the 'sound' of this........... :D

I think Brits can be heard "whinging" so loudly is the fact that we can uderstand them, but I agree we do seem to be a tad too loud these days. :(

Hi, NellyPS

I havent actually booked with Peak Retreats before but have used them as starting point for finding a DIY holiday in Feb half Term.
Three times I have used their accommodation but booked direct with the owner (Chalet) or company (appartment). Booking direct with the owner rather than through Peak Retreats has always saved me money but this might be because its half term week though.

I have never found any faults with the accommodation

How do you find out who owns the accommodation?
